Crescent Registrars Limited (formerly EDC Registrars Limited), was incorporated on the 19th March, 2003 (then Oceanic Registrars Limited), and licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on 23rd November, 2005.

Following the intervention of Central Bank of Nigeria in some banks in 2009 which affected Legacy Oceanic Bank, its subsidiary (Oceanic Registrars) was taken over by Ecobank Transnational incorporated (ETI) to merge with their existing EDC Securities (Registrar Unit) and became a member of the Ecobank Group.
